The recalled device is the Ellipsis Jetpack mobile hotspot.

They were imported by Franklin Wireless Corp. The hotspot is a dark navy blue plastic oval measuring 3.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall. They have Verizon printed under the display screen. The charger has a sticker on the wire that says Compatible: FWC MHS900L, Model: FWCR900TVL, DC151030.

The CPSC said if you have the affected devices you should turn them off, unplug them and store them away from children on a hard surface with ventilation, away from things that could combust.

If you must use it to access the internet then you have to download two automatic software updates that will allow the ID number to be viewed on the screen and prevent the device from charging while in use.

Parents whose children received the hotspot from their child’s school for remote learning should contact the school for information on how to get a new device. Otherwise, consumers can contact Verizon for a free replacement and an envelope to return the recalled hotspot.

You should contact Verizon at 855-205-2627 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET daily or online at www.EllipsisJetpackRecall.expertinquiry.com or www.verizon.com and click recalls for more information.
