WASHINGTON — A driver in the HOV lane in Washington was stopped with a fake passenger made from a duffel bag and blankets, officials say.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson on Twitter, the driver was stopped southbound on Interstate 5 near the King County and Snohomish County line.
KIRO reported that the incident happened on Thursday morning after a trooper found that the driver was in the HOV lane with no passengers in the car.
It was learned that the driver allegedly used a duffel bag, blankets and a hat to put together a fake passenger in the front seat, Trooper Johnson said, according to KIRO.
No further information has been released, but Trooper Johnson did say that the driver provided no excuse.
