Shannon Tayaine Spence, 43, of Miramar, was charged with aggravated battery and knowing -- or should have known -- the victim was pregnant, unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling, and touch or strike/battery, according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

Her bail was set at $18,500, online records show.

According to a police report, Spence and Solanges Sha’cad Cadet, 19, went to the victim’s residence in Miramar on the afternoon of March 5 to pick up some mail, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Cadet used to live at the residence, according to the report.

The victim answered the door and said she would look for the mail, adding that she did not know what Spence and Cadet were talking about, the newspaper reported.

An argument broke out, and another woman in the backyard came to the front door to investigate, according to the police report.

Spence and Cadet grabbed the woman from the backyard and pulled her out of the home. According to the police report, Spence grabbed the victim by the hair and kicked her in the stomach after she fell to the ground, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

When the woman from the backyard yelled that the victim was pregnant, Spence allegedly kicked the woman in the stomach again, the newspaper reported.

When the victim called 911, Cadet allegedly spit in her face, police said.

Spence and Cadet then left the residence, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Neither of the victims wanted to be identified, according to police.
